On this show, Lori welcomed Eric Mills, one of the country’s leading voices in opposition to animal cruelty in rodeo and rodeo style events, and in agriculture. Eric is Founder and Coordinator of Action for Animals, and serves as a Board member of PawPAC and the Ohlone Humane Society.
They started off with Eric’s comments about the recent New York Times article, Where Riding and Wrangling Beat Virtual Adventure – Youth Rodeo In Utah Keeps Old West Alive. This led to discussions about the popular events for children and teens including mutton-busting, goat-tying and animal scrambles. Eric argued that these activities not only hurt the animals, but also do great harm to children and our society.
